Downtown

Downtown 32 x 40 oil on wood. This one was done with the theme of the Emanate Domain show went well last night. I'm happy to say it sold at the opening bell. I was late so I missed some people, but did get to put some faces to some people I only knew though E- mails. Some collectors showed up and some old friends. I was concerned we didn't have enough time to get the word out for bigger crowds, but overall I was happy with the turn out. My paintings were arranged nicely in what felt like the perfect spot in the gallery and I got the kind of response from people was looking for.

Almost has the washy feeling of a watercolor, espcially around the sparkly lights.

Sweet dude, congrats on the sale. I knew you'd do well. I hope I get to see the show when I'm in LA next week.

Where is the location of the subject in this painting? Is is downtown on Broadway or is it Pasadena?

Hey Thor,
Yeah he seems to own the hand done lens flare, but he stole it from Bob Peak. The thing is it's a ladder, but is so abstracted it looks like a glint.

AW
Yeah, it is an experment with how thin I can go. You can't see any of the cool underpint texture on this one unless you see the original.

Everything looks great. It's inspiring to see someone doing so many paintings and at such a good clip. And then posting them here? Too much.
Love all of your work!

It's not magic, just using complementary colors and doing hundreds of bad paintings first. Thank God for belt sanders. I appreciate the idea though. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, there's a different kind of smoothness there. Wood seems to agree with your style as well as canvas.
