Roses in the Rain

These are the Roses in by backyard during the rainy season. I'm not a big floral type dude, but decided I wanted to enter a International artist magazine contest. 9x12 oil on linen.

There’s a lot of felling in this one. You portray the beauty and gloom of a rainy day with such grace sir. Congrats on a really nice piece of work, and good luck with the contest.

I read International Artist too and now they've changed it so you can enter digitally I've been thinking of entering at some point. I have a good feeling about your painting - I can just see it on one of the pages. I really hope you win something. I will be hugely excited if you do!! Good luck!

Hey, Bill!
I just got all 4 issues of your Big Blown Baby comics (I've never seen them before). They are amazing! Cartoony and gross!

Love the new painting of the roses too. Those leaves look nice.

Bill - this is gorgeous - and it takes a non-floral painter to know how to paint flowers so they get that second look and WOW!!! This is just so not traditional - even if it is for International Artist ;)

Hey K-- Yes it may be a stretch for them over at IA-- They love photo real renderings of the obvious, but you never know. Maybe someone there will feel it.
