Crane After The Rain
When Tony and I were in Stockton we wondered around a port area that had a huge crane on the bank of narrow harbor. There was a big barge parked in port and a grain silo type building across the way. It was late in the day and the colors after the rain were lovely. I expected the workers to stop us a some point, but there was no hassles. Everyone was quitting for the day and there was no security patrolling.
We both got some great shots. This is my first painting based on that excursion. I didn't have the presence on mind to notice the name of the business, darn it.

This is yummy! That sky is very, very sweet.
Bill.. what a nice blue harmony. I really like the cool late afternoon feeling, and I'm always fascinated by cranes.. reminds me of a small yellow one you had posted on your web page a while back. Great reflects too.

I thought for sure they were going to lock the gate on us and we'd spend the evening swimming the harbor to get out.

I got a little busy and missed couple posts. Nice work in reflection on the crane--did it get submerged because of the rain? It's funny that you always talk about security guards, and around here, they're not nearly as common an appearance.
I don't know why, but what I liked best about your abandoned car one was that post in the middle with the board or whatever across it. It took me a minute to realize it wasn't just another street lamp, and it looks too high to be a street sign. What the hell is that?

thanks BG-- Yeah it was sitting on a stip of mud next to on a big slab of cement giving the effect of being on a lake or something.
I think the pose your taling about is a Telephone pole.

Got some happy colors going here. Cool the way you rendered the water with reflection of the digging device.. hmmm reminds me of something -- can't quite put my mind on it... another accomplishment!

Nice things are happening in this painting.
