Sardines for lunch

A week or two ago Sharon came up to my studio and announced she had a still life for me. She had bought fresh sardines at the farmers market that morning and fried them up for lunch. While she fried I painted their remains. They tasted very good and were a tasty treat to paint.

This is exactly why I am such a fan of your work, because you are able to make bloody sardine remains into a painting that I would happily hang on my wall! Amazing, really amazing!

I'm not a big fish guy...but when it's art it looks pretty awesome! They remind me of fingers that it's okay to eat.

This one is really good, Bill. I like it a lot, but my wife said, "ewwww".
