Neart Burbank Airport and Charity Auction

Here is a view from driving down San Fernando Road in Burbank this is based on cheating the view and simplification to the maximum degree. The reference being the tiny corner of a photo blown up so far it was almost abstract. This truly is an "impression" of the area.
Oil on Wood 23x48

My friend, Fellow artist and new Gallery owner is having a benift show at his gallery in Santa Monica that I've agreed to put 5 paintings into. this is ,just one of them, priced for charity, you will not see my prices this low untill the next charity when ever. Hope yopu can come by.

I dig the second one you are putting in for the charity.. nice persp and the bush tree thingy strikes a slightly darkish note. I love Fred Cumming too!! One of the guys on WC lives next to him in England and gets to go out PA painting with him (lucky bastard!).

The Cumming paintings are wonderful as is your into- the- light scene. The high lights reflecting off the cars are wonderful!

I'm sorry. One last comment. Love the broken, shimmer-like edges. You have the right brush touch for this particular atmosphere.
That's my last comment...promise!

I love "Near Burbank Airport"... the simplification of the cars, that plane off in the distance, everything. This one is a home run!

thanks Bill -- I feel pretty good about it. Perhaps not on a South Connector level, but in the neighborhood.

That Fred Cumming guy looks like he's taken the Painting with Hawthorne book to heart.

Great work, never heard of him.

I'm digging your progress as well. Whacky palettes man... :)

Fred Cuming is currently at The Royal Academy 'Summer Show'.... And showing his class amidst the usual junkpile of attention-grabbing trivia and gimmicks that pass as 'Fine Arts' in the UK today.
