These are really amazing! Congrads on the award.. very deserved.
And I realy love your color palette as well.
Are you painting these directly from life, and do you do considerable composition changes when painting plein air?

D- I think PA is vital for development as a painter, but I’m a studio artist now. I use photos, alter them and use abstraction. I’m not really concerned in “Capturing Nature" anymore, I'm trying to explore internally.

I have to echo the comment about the color of the Liquor Store- it's that perfect dark glow, pre- storm, late day atmospheric contradiction.
Takes first prize in my book.
Love how you capture so much moodiness with monochromes.

Nice going on these and congrats on the 2nd place. That works. That Elsar liquor looks like a prison, hahaha. Amazing how the people can effect the landscape they live in....makes you think twice about people. Awesome work as always Sir.

It feels better to win than to lose. It is easy to see why this won.
